Main city

The capital is The Valley. It's set back a bit from the coastline and, therefore, is not a tourist magnet.

Size

The island is relatively small. It measures about 5 kilometers (3 miles) wide and 25 kilometers (16 miles) long.

The land

Anguilla Island is fairly flat and much of the landscape is relatively dry.

Currency

The Eastern Caribbean Dollar is the official currency. However, the US Dollar is widely accepted.

English is the official language and widely spoken. Some people speak a Pidgin English.
