Caribbean tips you can trust
Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad is famous for its music and its annual carnival. Tobago is loved for its tranquility and lush tropical setting.
Unfortunately, Trinidad falls short in the beach, resort, and lush-tropical setting departments. And island life is focused on the oil and gas industries, not tourism. But Trinidad has two terrific draws:
Trinadadians are natural musicians. They invented calypso, soca, and steel-drum music - and they play their music with passion on the streets and in nightspots.
Trinidad's carnival is widely regarded as the best in the Caribbean.
Tobago is strikingly different than its sister. It has outstanding beaches and resorts, particularly on the southern end of the island in the Crown Point area. And Pigeon Point has a gorgeous beach tucked into a small, cozy cove.
