Ship
The Silver Whisper's passenger count is low (382). All accommodations are suites with balconies. I also appreciate the roomy, comfortable, and stylishly furnished public spaces.
Service
Silver Whisper staffers are gracious, attentive and accommodating.
Dining
The chef prepares some of the finest dishes on the high seas. Wines are knowledgeably selected.
All inclusive
The Silver Whisper fare includes accommodations, food, alcohol and tips. You don't have to sign chits for drinks or go on a tipping frenzy at the end of the cruise.
Fellow passengers
They are sophisticated, educated, well-traveled, and unpretentious.
Among the many other pluses are a scarcity of waiting lines and intrusive public address announcements. And the Silver Whisper's entertainers, enrichment lectures, and shore excursions are high quality.
The Silver Whisper
may not be right for you if...
You
are cruising with
children under 16
The Silver Whisper has no video game rooms or organized activities for them. And few if any kids will be aboard for them to meet. (However, a mature child who is well-traveled with good social skills would fit in.)
You
have a tight budget
The Silver Whisper fare is higher than the industry average because it costs more per passenger to operate. The fare offers excellent value for those who can afford it. For those that cannot, there are cruise lines that meet tighter budgets. Consider booking one. The Baltic is too interesting to miss.
