May and September are ideal. In July and August, tourists abound and it can get hot. In winter, it's cold and rains the most.
Getting to Athens
The Metro (subway or underground) is the fastest and least expensive transportation mode linking the port of Piraeus with Athens. The trip takes just 20 minutes. The Metro cars are relatively new and the Piraeus station is conveniently near the port. Busses and taxis to Athens are also available.
