and other candid tips
Best time
December to March
This period has the lowest temperatures and least rain. However, the tourist count peaks then. To minimize tourist crowds, go in early December or in March. As a bonus, air and hotel availability and rates are better then.
Less desirable times
April to June
Temperatures can sometimes soar above 35 degrees Celsius (100 degrees Fahrenheit), especially in June.
July to October
You're in the heavy-rain monsoon season. True, the rainfall from July to October is less in desert-scaped Rajasthan than in other Indian regions. However, drenching downpours do occur there. For instance, a monsoon created knee-high floods in Jaipur in August 2012.

Sun protection
Bring and regularly apply it. You can easily sunburn under the Golden Triangle sun.
Money
You usually receive more rupees in exchange for your dollar or euro if you use your bank card at ATM machines in India. You get less when exchanging dollar or euro bills - and even less when using traveler checks.
