When to go
on your safari
Each South Africa
climate season has its
pros & cons for safari visits.
For example, in January and February it can be hot, humid and rainy - and your ranger may be unable to drive off-road looking for game after a downpour.
On the other hand, the landscape will be lushly gorgeous, migratory birds will be abundant, and nocturnal drives will not be cold.
Yet the lushness could make it difficult to spot safari animals in their natural surroundings.
My graphic above is valid for most of the major South Africa safari destinations, including Ngala, Phinda and Kirkman's Kamp.
