As the Rock Lodge, the Vlei Lodge has just six units, collectively accommodating only 12 guests.

If the Rock Lodge is fully booked, this is a splendid alternative.

Some safari-goers enjoy the Vlei Lodge more because of its out-of-doors setting and game-viewing area.

This low-guest-count plus privacy creates a laid-back ambiance that appeals to romantic souls - lovers, honeymooners, and anniversary-celebrating couples.

Each of the thatched-roof suites is set far enough away from the others to ensure a sense of seclusion. And the interiors are pleasingly decorated.

From your or the main lodge's veranda, you can see a vlei (grassy wetland) where animals habitually come to drink, roam or pass through.
